J. Gregg Layne Papers, 1920-1952

Joseph Gregg Layne (1885-1952) was a leading authority and bibliographer of Californiana as well as president, member of the board of directors and editor of the Quarterly for the Historical Society of Southern California and an organizer for E Clampus Vitus. The collection consists of E Clampus Vitus ephemera, correspondence, literary manuscripts, and working notes pertaining to California history. Much of the correspondence relates to Historical Society of Southern California business.
